Giving Tuesday - Give to change a life!

Have you heard of Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday was created to provide a time of generosity in the midst of the crazy Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

This year we want everyone to join us on Giving Tuesday to bring joy, safety and a future to girls rescued from sexual exploitation.

Donate

$20 – School supplies for a girl for a year

$300 – Can send a girl to school for a year

$400 – Covers the monthly wage for a teacher in the SHE Rescue Home

Share your Expertise

Do you have a skill you can teach? We have volunteers from all over the world who share their expertise in many areas. Opportunities are available online or in person to help our local staff teach English, Poetry, Art classes, Practical skills or even give insight into professions they might never have considered. Contact us today by replying to this email.

Raise Awareness

Education can change lives – the effects are long lasting and ripple into communities. Including your own! It costs nothing to share with your friends about giving Tuesday, your passion to end Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation or the impact of education. Or you can visit our social media or website and share this fundraising campaign, stories from the SHE Rescue Home and information on how to change a life.

We have also help families start businesses by providing start up equipment or loans. If you can lend your expertise, you can irrevocably change a family’s life! The best way to break the cycle of poverty is to ensure people are employed in safe workplaces and paid a fair and liveable wage. Shopping ethically made products and food has a direct impact on people’s lives! The easiest way is to shop at our online store!

However, the biggest exploitive industries are electronics, clothing, fishing, cocoa and sugarcane. There are some great resources to find ethical clothes (We recommend ‘Baptist World Aid Annual Fashion Guide’ and ‘Good for You’ app) and there are some great chocolate brands fighting to change the industry.

However, ethically made electronics and ethically harvested fish and sugarcane are harder to find. There are many campaigns you can join to demand change in how we source products from around the world and ensure transparency in how much people are paid.

Together we can break the cycle of poverty.
