Davy* - A Story of Fortitude: Finding a Path That Works for Her

Davy* has been part of the SHE Rescue Home community since 2018, showing incredible resilience and determination throughout her journey. After being reintegrated with her family in 2019, she returned in 2020 when the pandemic increased her vulnerabilities and opportunities in her local community. Earlier this year, she moved into the SHE Transition Home, where she’s been focusing on building a brighter future. Davy* has embraced a clean and structured routine, attends church weekly, and cherishes her Sundays with the other girls. Her health has also improved, and during Pchum Ben, she took a significant step in her relationship by visiting her boyfriend’s family.

This year, Davy* made a bold decision to transfer universities, a choice that highlights her strength and self-awareness. She had been struggling with her previous university’s English-language curriculum, which made it difficult to engage fully with her studies. By transferring Universities, where she can study in Khmer, Davy has set herself up for success. Now pursuing an IT degree, she’s thriving in subjects like Computer Science and Khmer, while steadily working on improving in English and Math. Her goal is to become a manager in media advertising within the tech sector and a graphic designer—a dream she’s actively working toward with determination and focus.

Looking ahead, Davy* plans to gain work experience through a part-time job while continuing her studies and receiving supported accommodation at the SHE Transition Home. Her journey is a testament to the power of making choices that align with your needs and strengths. Thanks to your support, Davy* has the courage to embrace new opportunities and carve out a future where she can thrive. Donate to help Davy* and girls like her today!
